VenueSpy is a personal gig-management tool built for independent musicians and comedians, made by ASHA Technology LLC. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data the app collects, where it stays, and what it never does.
Everything you enter stays on your device. VenueSpy has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no servers of ours that ever see your data.
All information you enter — venue names, addresses, booking details, payment notes, bandmate names, income records, setlists, and performance history — is stored locally on your device. It is never sent to us or sold or shared with any third party.
On iOS, if you are signed into iCloud, your venue and booking data syncs to your private iCloud database so it stays available across your devices. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest, is tied to your Apple ID, and is accessible only to you — we cannot read it, and Apple hosts it under Apple's own privacy policy. Bandmate, income, and setlist data currently stays on-device only. The Android app does not sync to any cloud; your data stays on the device unless you export a backup yourself.
On iOS, maps and address autocomplete use Apple's MapKit. On Android, they use the Google Maps Platform: map imagery is loaded from Google, and when you type an address in the venue editor, the text you type is sent to Google's Places service to fetch suggestions. In both cases the queries are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies; VenueSpy adds no identity to these requests beyond what the platform requires, and we never see or store them.
The app requests access to your location only to center the map on your current position, and — on iOS, if you enable the optional "Time to Leave" reminder — to estimate drive time to a booked venue on the day of the gig. The app does not track your location in the background. Your location is never stored, logged, or shared. Location access is optional — the app works without it.
If you grant access, the app searches your contacts on-device to suggest names, phone numbers, and email addresses while you type in the venue contact form. Contact data is read only at that moment, is never uploaded anywhere, and only the single entry you choose to save is stored with the venue. Contacts access is optional — you can always type contact details manually.
The app can send local notifications to remind you of upcoming gigs and prompt outreach to venues you haven't contacted recently. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and are off by default. No notification content is sent to any server.
If you choose to export a gig to your calendar, the app interacts with your device's calendar solely to create that event. Calendar data is not accessed for any other purpose and is never transmitted off your device.
The app can create backup files of your data and export your income records as CSV or PDF. You control where those files go. Apart from the private iCloud sync described above (iOS), the app does not automatically upload your data anywhere.
VenueSpy's one-time unlocks are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (iOS) or by Google through Google Play (Android). We never see your payment details. Purchase records are managed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.
On iOS the app uses Apple's MapKit (maps and addresses), CloudKit (private iCloud sync), and WeatherKit (venue-day forecast, looked up by the venue's address — not your location). On Android the app uses the Google Maps Platform (map display, address suggestions, and address-to-coordinates lookup) and Google Play Billing (purchases). All are subject to their providers' privacy policies. No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included on either platform.
This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
