PlentyBook — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 31, 2026

PlentyBook is a checkbook register for your phone. It is built by ASHA Technology LLC. This policy explains what the app collects, where that information stays, and what it never does.

The short version: PlentyBook collects nothing. Everything you type stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no advertising. We cannot see your balances, your account names, or anything else you enter, because none of it is ever sent to us.

What you enter stays on your device

Everything you record — account names, starting balances, income and expense amounts, notes, dates, categories, and colors — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework on iPhone and Android's Room database on Android. This information is never transmitted to ASHA Technology LLC or to any third party.

No account, no sign-up

PlentyBook does not have user accounts. You are never asked for an email address, a password, a phone number, or a name. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into, so there is no account record of you anywhere.

No analytics or tracking

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no third-party trackers of any kind. We do not know how many times you open the app, which screens you use, or whether you use it at all. Nothing about your behavior in the app is measured or transmitted.

Backup files you create

PlentyBook can export your register to a backup file. That file is created only when you ask for it, and it is written to whatever destination you choose — Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a messaging app, or anywhere else your device offers. The file contains your account names, balances, and transaction history in plain, readable JSON.

Once that file leaves the app it is under your control, and how it is stored is governed by whatever service you saved it to. We never receive a copy and have no way to access it. Because a backup contains your financial history in readable form, treat it the way you would a bank statement.

Restoring a backup

Restoring reads a file you select and merges it into the register on your device. It only adds and updates; it never deletes anything already present. The file is read on your device and is not uploaded anywhere.

Purchases

PlentyBook is free to download and includes one account. An optional one-time purchase unlocks unlimited accounts. Optional tips are also available if you would like to support development; tips do not unlock any features.

All purchases are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. Payment is processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. ASHA Technology LLC never sees, receives, or stores your payment details, card number, or billing address. The app only ever learns whether a purchase was completed.

No network access

PlentyBook does not connect to the internet to function. It has no server component, and there is no backend to be breached. The only network activity that can occur is the App Store or Google Play verifying a purchase, which is handled by the operating system rather than by the app.

Cloud sync

Version 1.0 of PlentyBook does not include cloud sync. Your data stays on the device you entered it on. If a future version adds sync, it will use Apple's private iCloud database on iPhone and Google Drive's private app folder on Android — in both cases your data would be stored in your own account, readable only by you, and this policy would be updated before that version ships.

Children

PlentyBook is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on request. You can remove everything the app holds at any time by deleting an account inside the app or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app removes its local database along with it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes — in particular any change to what the app collects — will also be described in the app's release notes.
