MigraineSpy is a personal migraine journal. It is built by ASHA Technology LLC. This policy explains what the app records, where that information stays, and what it never does.
MigraineSpy is a place to write down what happened. It does not give medical advice, and it cannot diagnose, treat, or prevent anything. It is not a medical device and it is not a clinical record. If you are worried about your health, talk to a doctor.
Everything you enter — when a migraine started and ended, its intensity, the symptoms you attached to it, your notes, the medications you took and whether you noted that they helped, and your app settings — is stored locally on your device in a private SQLite database. That database lives in the app's own storage area, which the operating system keeps separate from other apps.
This information is never transmitted to ASHA Technology LLC or to any third party. There is no server to send it to.
What you write in a migraine journal is health information, and we treat it that way. MigraineSpy does not read from or write to Apple Health or Google Health Connect, does not share your entries with any health service, insurer, employer, advertiser, data broker, or researcher, and does not build a profile about you. We hold no copy of your entries and could not hand them over, sell them, or lose them, because we never receive them.
MigraineSpy does not have user accounts. You are never asked for an email address, a password, a phone number, a date of birth, or a name. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into, so there is no account record of you anywhere.
The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no third-party trackers of any kind. We do not know how many times you open the app, how many migraines you have logged, which screens you use, or whether you use it at all. Nothing about your behavior in the app is measured or transmitted.
If you allow notifications, MigraineSpy can send you a single reminder when a migraine you started is still marked as running after a number of hours you choose. This reminder is scheduled and delivered entirely by your own device. It is not a push notification, there is no push server, and the app never registers for or receives a push token. Declining notifications does not limit anything else in the app.
MigraineSpy can save your journal as a backup file, and can export a readable PDF summary of a date range you choose. Both are created only when you ask for them, and both are handed to your device's own share sheet, so they go wherever you send them — Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a messaging app, email, a printer, or anywhere else your device offers.
These files contain your migraine history in readable form, including your notes, symptoms, and medications. Once a file leaves the app it is under your control, and how it is stored is governed by whatever service you saved it to. We never receive a copy and have no way to access it. Because these files contain health information about you, treat them the way you would anything else you would not want read by someone else.
Restoring reads a file you select and puts it back into the journal on your device. The file is read on your device and is not uploaded anywhere. You are shown what is in the file, and asked whether to merge it or replace what is already there, before anything is changed.
MigraineSpy is free to download, and everything needed to keep a migraine journal — including backup and restore — is free and stays free. An optional one-time purchase unlocks PDF export. Optional tips are also available if you would like to support development; tips unlock nothing and grant no features.
All purchases are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. Payment is processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. ASHA Technology LLC never sees, receives, or stores your payment details, card number, or billing address. The app only ever learns whether a purchase was completed.
MigraineSpy does not connect to the internet to function. It has no server component, and there is no backend to be breached. The only network activity that can occur is the App Store or Google Play verifying a purchase, which is handled by the operating system rather than by the app.
Version 1.0 of MigraineSpy does not include cloud sync. Your journal stays on the device you entered it on, and moving to a new device is done with the backup file you save yourself. If a future version adds sync, your entries would be stored in your own private cloud account, readable only by you, and this policy would be updated before that version ships.
MigraineSpy is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on request. You can remove everything the app holds at any time by deleting individual entries inside the app, or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app removes its local database along with it. If you want a copy of your own data first, save a backup file before you delete.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes — in particular any change to what the app collects — will also be described in the app's release notes.
